Default Replacement Wideband Sensor

ok, this is probably too good to be true and will not work, but i have to ask since i couldnt find where its been previously asked. ok, i have a DIY-WB without the NTKL1H1 sensor. cant find one used at a good price and really cant fade 200$+ for a new one, so the controller has been sitting for a while. well i came across a post on the DIY-WB forum where a guy is claiming to have used the much cheaper Bosch LSU4 sensor with the DIY-WB controller. he says that he altered the heater circuit with a voltage regulator, to make the heater circuit 9 volts. now, i cant find a detailed data sheet for the NTKL1H1 to compare to the LSU4, so does this sound feasible? the LSU4 data sheet does list the heater supply at 9 volts...what do yall think? to good to be true? at around 50bux for a LSU4, its almost worth a shot.

i guess new users dont get PMs? or i just dont know where to retrieve them at. well is that 150$ shipped for the sensor + controller or just the sensor? i already have a controller. if i could get someone else to contribute to the cause for tuning purposes, i would like to have it, but no promises.

lol @ burke. sorry dude, no i had too much fun building it. its the DIY-WB, really pretty easy to do and only cost like ooooo i dunno its been sitting for so long, maybe like 40$ parts and a 10$ radioshack case. wonder what forum i could ask about the LSU4 compatibility on? its prolly not gonna work, but would be a nice alternative if it did.

i may have to take some of these offers up for the NTK if i have no luck. im kinda hit tho, cuz i had to buy some replacement parts for my McIntosh Audio home amp, a bank of transistors went out and costed like 150$ for parts and me to replace em. ouch.

Are there online instructions for the DIY-WB? I would like to build one as well.

The new 2.0a DIY kit uses the Bosch LSU. Yes, the DIY kit is available now. Contact Sohfast because they might have a used L1H1 sensor in stock.
