remote mount turbo
ive been doin a little research on remote mounting turbos (in the rear, ubder the trunk) ive heard of a few reasons why it might not be the best idea, but in my mind at least ive found ways to overcome those problems. first ive heard that if you in full boost, that there couold be too much gforce working against the return oil lines. i dont really know much about oil pumps/systems but i would think you could just use a bigger external oilpump...if those exist? the next thing ive heard is that there just isnt very much air to get at from under there, id think you could just make a scoop or cowl/duct watever you call those to route air to it and just build an airbox for it. another prob would be where to run the charge pipe...there isnt exactly a channel or anything to use. another thing is according to sts (the company that does the remote mount twin turbo kits for some domestics) is that at least on those cars they loose about 1psi due to running the charge pipe from back to front and through an intercooler, but then they said that it drops the charge air temps about 50 degrees i think, which would overcome that loss. i would think that total length of carge pipe would not be that much longer really considering that in some hondas ive seen the pipe has got to be at least 15' long with almost constant bends. anyways, just some thoughts. no flaming, just info please

And usually the OP too - HT hasn't room on the turbo bandwagon for 'unusual' setups yet.
