Default Recieved my new block

I just recieved my new (to me/ used) b18c1 block. It was a race eng block guard, SRP pistons and eagle rods. The block guard is a little uneven. Most of it is about 1/8 to 1/16 of a inch below the top of the block and cylinder walls but in 1 spot it is flush with the top. Can I just tap it down so its even again or will this mess up anything?

Thanks

As long as it's not tack welded, yeah, just tap it with a rubber mallot til it's sunk down, then with a screwdriver or something.

You get that from Josh, Dave?

Yeah it was me at work. Will pushing the block guard down the sleeve move the cylinders at all. Is there any need to get it spot welded in place?

Hmmm It shouldn't change any geometry, but I'd let Bobby measure all the angles if you're that concerned... Make sure all the cylinders are at the same angle.

it should stop on its own from tapering out of the sleeves at 1/4" max, i suggest you find a way to gently get it out, then throw it in the freezer for a few hours and then just drop it in.

Don't the cylinders have to be bored with the block guard in, so pulling it out might **** it up correct? Is it ok being flush with the top of the cylinders?
