re-using rings... already searched
k, before you hit that reply button and say i didn't search hoooold yer fire matey!
I am assembling my short block of b16 pistons on an ls/vtec (probably going to see a 35 shot of teh nawz). All went well with the first 3 rod/pistons, and on the last one, the far bottom oil rail/ring slipped between the ring compressor and the top of my sleeve, so when i started tapping it down, i bent it a little bit. note: the busted ring isn't the mesh looking squiggly one, its the bottom of the 2 that go on top/bottom of it.
I was wondering if i could use an old one of those. I would never re-use a top or 2nd ring, but the 3rd doesn't really relate to compression and the ability to keep oil out of the combustion chamber durring combustion, does it?
sorry for rambeling, but here's the cliff notes
can i re-use one of the rails on the bottom ring (#3) for a freshly honed/new motor?

well that's the thing, there isn't a gap spec on that ring i don't think.
thoughts?
