thats a very broad question to ask. when it comes down to it, it will all depend on the tunning and the amount of work done to the motor to support the amount of boost you have....

you can stay in boost as long as your EGT is fine af ratio is fine and you have some Autometer makes a nice cylinder temp guage that can prevent you from melting pistons etc if you wathc them but most guys dont have thet time to watch guages when you are racing.
Most hondas dont like to be driven crzy autobahn style for long periords of time. It should be the person driving the car to know when to let off. it would be safest thing becuase that person knows what his or hers car is capable of.

I have one of the smallest turbos on HT, and even at 100 MPH, I'm in vacuum. As long as you're in vacuum, you're OK for extended periods. As a general rule of thumb, I'm going to have to say that 25- 30 seconds at full boost (foot to the floor) is about the limit. That doesn't sound like alot, but if you're hitting 60 in around 5-7 seconds and the 1/4 mile at between 12 and 14 seconds, how fast are you going to be going at 25- 30 seconds? Haulin '*** fast, that's for sure!

It gets scary when you began to go so fast. Like say, 30 minutes while boosting in 5th non stop.

turbo or not if you keep a pedal on the floor for 30 min something is going to break i dont care what youre driving that is a long freakin time to be at WOT, take a stock Ferrari and mash the throttle for 30 min and i bet you wont even make it to the 30 min mark, hell even 24hr LeMans race cars dont stay at WOT for 30 min straight, whatever dumb@$$ told you it was safe to stay at full boost for 30 min in any gear is either a blooming idiot or really meant 30 secs, but damn even 30 secs at full boost could break a motor, try this, get out a stopwatch and count 30 secs now realize how long that actually is to be at boost, you would cover atleast a mile of road maybe more and youd have no problem finding your way back home...just follow the trail of oil and various engine parts lying on the road

I personally think that if your car is built for it and all of your engines vitel stats like egt, cooling, and fuel is there and at a safe level you might just stay in it for as long as you want but with a good boost level and a dicently sized turbo you should be toping 140mph or so in 5th gear pritty quickly..

Re: quik questin....how long should you stay in boost... (speedymon)
i tried to stay at WOT/full boost for no more than 60 seconds or so. if i were racing someone on the highway, i'd go thru 3rd, thru 4th, and if i had to as little of 5th as possible. fortunatly, by then, the competition was always behind me. the egt really helps on the highway. i never let my greddy climb over 900c.
