quick turbo timer question
ok so assuming i have a turbo timer installed on my car, then go drive it hard and park it, it or i tell it how long the car should stay on for after i remove the key right? my question is during that time when the key is out but the car is running, what is there to stop the car from being driven? tnx

Re: quick turbo timer question (tek_civic)
on the greddy TT, it has a wire going to your brake handle and 1 to the ecu(speed sensor). if the parking brakes are released or if they car moves, the TT shuts off the engine.

on the HKS it will shut off when the ebrake is put down , or the car goes in gear, other thna that i lock my steering wheel anyway , im scared since it cant go in gear it might roll or something , so i lock the wheel.

The Apexi works the same way plus it has an A/F reading that I like. It is also small as hell like a pen. Can mount it anywhere.

Re: (JDEM1)
you should be able to put it in gear...as long as the e-brake handel is up, the TT will continue to count down.

How do you leave a car in gear and on at the same time without going anywhere?

Re: (avex)
What happens when your car dies out on the hill or I mean the timer obviously cant keep the engine running if its in gear or will it will sense it and idle in gear? And if you decide to go and cancel the turbo timer what do u do just put ur key to acc and off u go. Lot of unanswerd questions in my mind about the little device.
Hope u dont mind my post

Re: (turbocivic4)
the timer can't sense and idle it in gear. I guess people who park up on hills are screwed. You can cancel the countdown by just putting the key in the ignition, and turn the key until you're just about to start the car. you can drive off now , the timer will shutdown but hte key will keep the car from shutting off. This works with the greddy tt , i dunno about the others.

That's got to be one of the wackiest things I've heard on here. No, you cannot leave the car in gear if it's running on a turbo timer. Not even if the e-brake is up (WTF?).
Anyway, I've learned to trust my e-brake for parking on hills (that and I turn the wheels to the curb if there is one and lock the steering wheel). If it's really a steep hill or an odd location, I disable the countdown and just leave my car in gear with the e-brake pulled.

ANYWAYS, I always just turn my steering wheel into the curb when parked on a hill. Otherwise, in the situations when you are on a hill, stay with the car and shut it off manully, then put it into gear...better?
