Hallo,
quick question, quick answer please: how much whp can a stock D16A block handle?
a) with stock compression ratio and stock internals?
b) with reduced compression ratio and forced internals (rods, pistons)?
c) like b) but also sleeved?
Thanks
Malte.

Depends on alot of stuff..
Usally with a stock bottom end you can put out about 220hp or so with good tuning..
Sleeving and using forged internals will raise this up.. Why do you want to reduce your compression ratio?

reducing the cr will reduce the stress on the engine and allows higher boost levels.
its only because a friend asked me whats possible with a d16a engine and because i only have experience with b16 engines i made this post... it's not so that i need exact numbers, only a range to get an idea of the possible power levels for different stages of engine buildup.

How do you figure it will reduce stress and why do you want to run more boost?
