quick question???

One of my friends is going turbo, and he needs to change his rods and pistons. So he asked me if he compresses it to 9:1, will it still pass emmisions? If you can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

There is alot more to emissons than the compression. If his tuner runs it pig rich it could have stock compression and still not pass.
