Default quick question about a td05h

hey guys i had to ditch my ct26 because it was too large and wouldnt fit in my engine bay so i am just going to run a td05h for the time being, i heard that the stock internal wastegates on these things are 11 psi? is that accurate? also if i am running the stock map sensor would i be able to push the boost past 1 bar or like 14.7 psi or whatever it is or will the turbo just be blowing hot air? lemme know thanks

stock wastegates on 14bs are around 9.5 and stock wastegates on 16gs are like 11.5 or so. THey both have TD05h compressor housings, the difference is in the wheels.

I'm running a 14b right now, and it's hitting about 8psi at full boost, and I haven't touched the MBC or anything. I beleive the stock spring is 7.x to about 8psi on them.

Apparently the DSM guys have their computers doing something to make them turn 11psi or so stock on a dsm, but the wastegate spring is still only a 7.x to 8 something.

Yea, the housing and wheels are completely different. TD04s are small, TD05s are bigger.

I run a 14b tdo5h on my ls and was told by the shop that rebuilt the turbo that it would be 5-7psi internal wastegate.I went with a external wastegate and run 10psi with no problems.i do talk to alot of the dsm guys at the track and most if not all that had a 14b at 1 time or another and all ran a external at 16psi but ran into shaft play alot faster than they should have.
to sum it up i would try to go external, run a 10 psi spring. This way with a external wastegate youll have better boost, and can better position the turbo. If you have boost creep it shouldnt past 13 or so psi and wouldnt be all that unsafe.
10psi on my ls stock into a eg is more than enough boost, full boost around 4500 or so and the car just screams.Run the 14b till it blows and go with a 16g or 20g
