I have been having trouble starting my built motor and I was just double checking everything. I swithced to OBD1, and removed my CPS and knock sensor from my H22 because I thought that te OBD1 ecu didnt recodnize it, could someone please verify this for me, thanks.
Which Dist. are you using? I'm pretty sure the OBD1 ecus and distributors trigger from the dist, but the obd2 triggers from the crank. So, removing the crank trigger and running an obd2 distributor would leave you with no crank trigger signal, i think...
No the sensor on the crank of OBDII cars is the CKF sensor (Crank fluctuation sensor) OBDII and OBDI distributors should be the same, even with the same color wires just different plugs. P72 ECU will look for a knock sensor unless it is diabled in the .bin.

The thing is that I was running the OBD1 P72 before when the sensors were on and it was fine, but I took them off when I built my motor, so I don't know if thats the reason It won't start.

Is it getting fire? Fuel? Obviously it is getting air unless you left some rags in there
. Do some troubleshooting to at least narrow it down. The most recent change before the problem occured is the usual suspect though. Check plug wire order, cam timing etc but you definately don't need the CKF sensor for an OBDI ECU.

I know for a fact that he crank sensor on integras and civics is only to measure crankshaft fluctuation, but I think it is the main trigger on the OBD2 preludes. I know when you move the dist. on an OBD2 prelude, it doesn't change the timing...

It was the CPS, so for the archives, any prelude with and OBD2 dizzy NEEDS the crank position sensor to run. now I have to figure out all the other problems

Good to know, I didn't know that H22s were like that. Thanks!

No problem, I like posting stuff that people can find answers for in the archives, because I dont know how many time i search and find 20 threads, and none of them answer the question.
