Default quick chipping question

I just chipped my friend's p72 and I can't get my y7 to start on it, I was under the impression that any obd1 ecu can start any obd1 car. I put my boost chip in the p72 and I cant get my car to start with it. I also noticed my p06 has a resistor the p72 is missing and I was under the impression this resistor needed to be replaced, r54 for anyone who wants to look. The p72 doesnt even have an r54 but it does have an r52 which in my p06 came stock with a resistor but the p72 doesnt have one. It wont even start so maybe it's not reading the chip and throwing it into limp mode which isnt going to happen with a stock 240cc map on 450's in my car. Anybody who chipped their own GSR could chime in and tell me what resistors they added, maybe I'll figure it out after I stare at the board a little, oh well.
