Momently, I´m at building my b16a2-engine(Eagle-Rods and SRP-Pistons for 8,2:1 with complete skunk2-valvetrain) We want to have roundabout 450whp.
Now, I want to know in how far will I benefit from Darton sleeves or ara just block guards enough or maybe just the stock sleeves?
What is the main reason people sometimes take dartons or blockguards?

I had a rebuild done on my B18c and installed a blcok guard and it lasted 1000 miles before it cracked a sleeve on the dyno right at around 300 hp. Could it have been the way I drove it, maybe, could it have been a fault of the installer, maybe, could it have been the block guard it self, entirely possible, I could go on and on. What I know is I spent enough money after cracking a sleeve to have gotten it resleeved in the first place.

When I had a rebuild done with darton sleeves, I havent had one single problem from the first mile to almost 15000 miles and a year later of abusing it daily, stuck in rush hour traffic daily, 140 mph pulls, running 14 psi on 93 octane all day long. .

I have had great luck with blockguards in the past. 500 whp and 10.1 timeslips with a blockgaurd. Brian
