Default question on wideband setup??

I dont want a air fuel gauge that gives me an inaccurate reading and is useless. I want a guage that tells me my actuall air/fuel ratio in digits. I dont know much about them and I searched a bit. got some mixed information and now I just have even more questions about them.
can I hook a wideband to my stock ecu OBDII (00 prelude sh) I will be running vafc hack?

whats this I hear about you need a controller?, do I need a hondata/ems to run one of these?

is it possible to get one of these gauges that will cosmetically match up with my silver greddy 60mm gauges?

how much do they run? I got mixed answers (350$-1000$) depending on gauge.

Also do these things adjust fuel also or do they just read it out?

Thanks guys

i'd run hondata at least before you worry about a wideband

how many lbs are you hoping to run w/ your vafc hack?
wideband O2's like FJO, etc.... are $ and i'd be worried about compatability issues w/ vafc

I dont want to lean, I want a fugin wideband. I want to make sure I dont lean out. also with the setup Im running after my motor pops I will be building my motor to something much more capable. I dont want to get anything else but a wideband

now can someone answer these questions and stop telling me what I need to worry about.

Well in terms of compatability, Your VFAC and Wideband don't talk to each other. Just think of your wideband as a external meter or sensor for your a/f.

You then must interpret what your wideband is telling you about your a/f and then make appropriate changes to your fuel management.

BTW if you getting a wideband you might as well look into Uberdata. Getting a wideband is the biggest expense when going uberdata, Since you already want one, it would probably only cost you another $50-100 to get yourself ready for uberdata.

this statment makes NO sense. dont listen to this.

if you want a wideband that goes with your guages then you should look at the aem ugeo guage version. its like 650 bucks. your other options can be found here. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=635792

i have the techedge and got it for 200 bucks, the display is small and i like it.

Uberdata is great if you can find base maps that match your setup or your able to spend ALOT of time on a dyno and make your own map and tune it. As for a wideband, http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm is the best one that I have found so far IMO. You can look around and see what you like. Going lean will blow your motor, but so will to much timming, so if you want your motor to last, retard the timming and run it rich, about 12.5-13.0 and your motor should last as long as you take care of it.

good luck
