Default question reguarding motor mounts/torque mounts.

i just got in my set of innovative mounts (top drivers side, rear, and tranny mount). i ordered them in the 85a durometer so they should be pretty darn stiff. anyhow i have a goal of around 450-500 whp and so i was wondering that if i install these mounts.........would they be enough to be able to eliminate both lower torque mounts and hold the engine from movement? thanks in advance.

thats the plan I was going to go with but if that were to be done the only mount causing the engine not to twist is the rear mount.

I have poly inserts in both my torque mounts and the enging still moves like a ****. I would at least put in poly inserts in the torque mounts and keep em in.

i have a 585whp monster and im running hasport-tranny upper ,motor side and motor rear are solid......my mounts on the bottom (tranny lower and motor lower) are the stock mounts with the poly inserts.... the poly inserts are kinda cheezzy but with some modification they fit better i had to cut some of the rubber of the insert with a pair of dykes to make it fit nice and flush, then i used some heavier zip ties to hold em together... double em if you can cuz they will break if you dont do a good job, trust me i been there.
the reason i went with the inserts was to take some of the shock off the drivetrain during launch.
im now heading to make 800whp with my new T4 setup. im thinking about going to soilid weled mounts. well see how the tranny holds up this year.

debating wether to keep the inserts in the lower mounts or go solid on them, not sure yet

You mentioned "eliminate both lower torque mounts".

Why would you want to remove the lower mounts? Or did you just mean leave them OEM.

I run the lowers and stock uppers with a engine damper @ 426whp/365wtq. No issue so far...

3 mounts here, no torque mounts, my batt is int he way, goin with the avid solids soon.

with the way things are goin in t/s sfwd, imma say the hell with it and go with a mid plate anyway.

but with the 3 i have 710 whp and no issues so far.

Wont you have pre-mature tranny failure without the torque mounts?
