Question regarding wastegates

Default Question regarding wastegates

does a turbo have an internal wastegate or the turbo manifold have an internal wastegate? I was told I have an internal wastegate, have a t-25 turbo with a d-series turbo manifold, came from a top fuel turbo kit.

The exhaust side of the turbo has the internal wastegate. If you look at that side, you'll see a flap door and that is what opens up via the actuator and vents off excess spent exhaust gases.

An internal WG in the manifold would not work since the manifold itself isn't producing the boost
