Question about VTEC with Turbo
Maybe because your dont hear as much of the normal intake honk with the intake being routed to the turbo first. I dont know for sure but in my friends teg you cant hear a damn thing once the wastegate opens. just my thoughts.

thats garbage...cause like I've seen Dyno videos and u can barely hear VTEC on some, but most Videos I dont hear VTEC at all, but I was watching this one video where this Type R Teg was being Dyno'd and I think he had GSR cams but anyways you could hear the VTEC like you would hear it with only Intake... but wouldnt a Turbocharged GSR VTEC would still be heard like it would with AEM Intake

When I first put the turbo on my car, I couldn't hear the vtec anymore just like you are saying. That wass the one thing I missed about being NA. When we redid the exhaust (3inch dp through a 3 inch racing muffler with just a turndown) you can hear the vtec engage now. Believe it or not, it sounds louder than it did NA.
wow you've seen videos thats cool.
guess what i've seen real cars!
So how you gonna tell me what im hearing aint true? who the ____ are you, god? For your information my friend has an exetrnal wastegate which dumps right by the drivers tire and when it opens and the exhaust starts flowin out you cant hear a damn thing like i said. so before you open your big *** mouth and start tellin people what there hearing or not maybe you should actuly think for a second especialy when its obvious you dont have a clue since you havent been around any cars so equiped.
Oh and i also said that i wasnt sure if that was why or not, it was just my opinion.

First off, that was kind of uncalled for, You ask a question then you criticize it.
for being a dick.
Anyways the reason that you don't hear it as much is because your intake is closed. Meaning that since it's connected to the turbo your not going to get much sound out of the intake lie you would if it was open (just filtered). Your engine changes tone when vtec engages, and the exhaust and intake are two places that will effect sound the most. Remove one of them you have less sound.
Take a tube, yell into it Your going to hear your yell loud and clear. Now put a cap on the end and yell into the tube, it's going to be muffled. Kind of the same theory Your limiting the sound waves created by the engine.
If you don't agree with something, find a more constructive way to express you miss-understanding or lack of agreement, esp if your asking a question of other and wouldlike an OPPINION.

this thread is stupid...who cares, you have boost man....to hell with "vtec sound" i would rather hear the whine of the turbo spooling, wastegate dumping, and bov sound than hearing an intake make a higher pitch noise in vtec....If you miss it that much go back to n/a, or you can get over it and enjoy the new sounds that a turbo offers you.......
FWIW, when VTEC engages in my ITR turbo, it's RIDICULOUSLY loud. I mean passengers and any drivers in the immediate area duck for cover
When just cruising along at part throttle it's REALLY quiet too. I hope to have a dyno clip up here in the next several weeks. Exhaust wise, I have a full 3" turbo back exhaust, hollowed out cat, and 2 resonators, all mandrel bent piping.

I can hear it nice and loud. You can actually tell when the cam is switching.
Watch this and listen what happens around 5K rpm:
