Default Question about turbo timers

Is a turbo timer really needed? I know it helps cool and lubricate the turbo after driving the car but stock turbo cars don't have them from the factory. How long should you let your car idle before shutting off?

Don't be lazy.

It's not reeally necessary, just wait a few minutes if you run the car hard before you shut it down

Yes, you can sit in your car so it wouldn't be necessary. However, like many people we have things to do.... "time is money" and that is why many of us get turbo timers.

Factory turbo cars are not exactly meant for high performance (some are, most aren't). I would also say that alot of factory turboed cars are not getting beat on hard like many honda's do.

I have been told, so don't hold me to this....but normal driving give it like 1.5 minutes while hard driving give it like 2.5 minutes. Really long distances (highway trips), give it a little longer perhaps. Just make an informed decision after reading everyones times that they post up (take an average basically).
