question about t25

Default question about t25

i have a friend that is building an sr and he is giving me his t25 that has no shaft play. would this turbo be sufficent for a b16a and give good power delivery? thanks in advance

On a b16 you'll have good spool times, and mid range, but will start to die off 6k+ RPM's....not the best turbo for your motor.

thanks guys. how well do j1 trannys hold up to boost? im at 4700rpm at 70 in 5th, so i guess i would be full-boost at 70?

An SR T25 can make about 240-250whp on your car at probably ~12-13 psi or so at the top end.

I don't know if it'd really fall off all that badly on a B16, but on an SR20 it falls off a bit after about 6k. I think it'd hold boost pretty close to redline on a B16 since it's a smaller engine.

It'll probably fully spool in 4th gear by about 2.8-3k RPM.

??? if i am about 4800rpm at 70 in 5th, why wouldnt i be in boost? i am wondering if will need another tranny or not(ls?)

If you have ever driven a turbo car you would realize that the car will not make any boost at part throttle, it is a function of load/TPS not so much RPM.

you will be in vacuum dad not boost. other than that a t25 will be fine we have one on one of my friends LS and it pulls pretty hard up top.
