Default question about inline fuel pump.....

hey boosted guys with fmu....
i wanna do a cartech fmu for now, and then install hondata in june...but besides that, what inline fuel pump does anyone suggest for using a cartech fmu, with a custom setup? i was gonna do an intank, but i feel that wont flow enough. or will it? i guess i will use the stock injectors for now, and adjust fuel pressure accordingly( i know its beat, but hondata tuned in june when nice out) so any suggestions for a fuel setup intank or inline? and where should i mount it?

the intank will flow just fine. Remember that even with an inline you have to pull all the gas through the stock pump first. Most of the honda-tech ppl here run intank pumps (i do) and dont have any problems. Intank is a much cleaner install too...just swap out the stock pump and you are done. Dont have to modify anything..it just works.

I have a Walbro 255lr/hr intank pump and have run as high as 18psi without any problems.

Inline is going to make mucho mas noise too, so be sure and mount it somewhere where you won't be able to hear it.

It's dependent on how much psi you plan on boosting, and how much of a rate you're gonna use on that FMU. 12:1 FMU w/ the stock injectors @15psi or boost w/ an intank and you can say buh-bye to your pistons!!

inlines work fine.. im boosting 15psi with the drag supplied Airtex and a SX regulator with RC 370's

the fmu will work if u get a smaller disc and larger injectors

Have you seen the crazy fuel pressures that a FMU (12:1) pumps out ? Over 100psi to the rail. A bit much for stock injectors. Getting rid of the stock fuel regualtor and FMU. Going with RC440's, Aeromotive 1:1 and tuning with a V-AFC. Will let you guys know how well this works.

Lets do some math. Static FP @ WOT is 45psi? Now, under boost, with a 12:1 fmu and boosting 7 lbs, thats an extra 84 psi being thrown through the rail.

45 + 84 = 129psi being pushed through stock injectors that have a max duty of what? 80psi? 90psi? Which means that at 7lbs of boost and WOT your injectors aren't ever closing. Those f*ckers are wide open all the time just dumping *not* enough fuel as they try and keep up.

Stock pump, Inline, 7-10lbs, 10:1 fmu, 310cc injectors is about the cheapest way that you'd wanna do this, IMHO.

(By the way, I learned all of this from reading BACK posts)
