question about EAGLE RODS
Acording to Golden Eagle, these rods can handle 15 -20 psi before they break. I plan on boosting 18-20 psi when I get my block from them, but does anyone have any experiance with high boost on these rods? They told me that I could upgrade the the rod bolts to ARP's for 150.00 more? what do you think?
for 150.00 more for bolts. spend 300 more and get a set of pauters with the right bolts that are good for 40psi of boost. to say a rod is good to 15-20 lb of boost means nothing. my friends all motor ITR broke a rod bolt revving 10k with only 200whp all mtoor. no boost at all. they dont like to be revved or boosted.something to think about.
I thought eagle rods comes stock with arp rod bolts? Correct me someone please. Paul

Thanks for the clarification, i don't see how you can fit a "bigger" bolt on the rods though. Paul
I'm in the same boat. I already have my Eagle rods though. My goal is 400WHP max and I have seen these rods handle 400WHP. I will probably have them all shot peened before they are put in.
Oh God, another post about eagle rods?
There have been many discussions about eagle rods and the amt of power it can sustain before breaking.
I have seen eagle rods hold up to 650whp on a race car for a whole season. So it can hold the power.
The eagle rods should be okay at 18-20psi given everything else is okay.
However I only use Pauter or Crower rods in all my high hp motors.

YO Brian,
I've heard only good things about eagle rods. Mine came with arp bolts..,.but then again i got ripped of; paid $480shipped from ENDYN
. ONe of my friends only paid $300 from a gb.
I think the eagle rods could easily handle 18-20psi assuming that those boost levels wont yield you 600+whp

Eagle rods aren't meant for high rpm N/A motors, they are too heavy, they are meant to handle lots of hp and torque up to 8K or 8.5K rpm, I wouldn't take them past 9k on any occasion, seen big power go through those rods reliably
