Default question about boost by gear install

I have a mac solenoid for my boost by gear, its labled 1, 2 and 3 by each port. Im just wondering if its directional or not. also do I hook it up just like in this diagram?

and for some reason my waste gate is too tall or its just a bad placement on my manifold (blox replica) so Im gonna have clearance issues with running a boost line on the top of the gate. wondering if theres anyway to just run the bottom one? sorry if this sounds like a noob question, tried searching just didn't really know what to look for.

on the aem boost solenoid #1 is bottom of waste gate
#2 is goes to the top of the gates
#3 is your sinterd muffler

I think to only run the bottom gate is to run a manual boost controller

see figure 7 on page 4 for external wastegate hook-up. you must use the top port, you will most likely need an elbow for the wastegate to help with clearance.

thanks man. thats super helpful and I really appreciate it.

as for the elbow for the wastegate I have an ebay one but it just seems to make the placement even worse

I put .75" spacers on the back side of my hood hinges which made a huge difference and I also ground down the bolt that holds the banjo fitting on the top port of the wastegate, clearance is still pretty tight, and my hoods probably gonna have a brand new dent once I get on it. but its no show car.
