AVC-R and wastegate users... LOOK
If you are not getting full boost in first gear with your wastegate I think I have a mod that will get you more more boost . According to the AVC-R manual an 8mm(-6) hose is supposed to connect to the bottom of the w/g while a 6mm (-4) ,which is tee-ed off of the 8mm, is connnected to solenoid. I used all stainless -4 hoses during the install because I didn't have a -6/-4/-6 Tee and I wanted to get my car finished.
The result was: Eventhoung I have a .5 w/g spring I was only getting .3 boost in first gear and boost in second gear didn't start to build until 3800rpm.
My solution: I added another adapter to my IC piping! I now have a -6 to 1/8 adapter and a -4 to 1/8 adapter with the -6 feeding the bottom of the w/g and the -4 goes to the solenoid. -4 is also used to connect the top of the w/g to the solenoid.
Results: I get full boost in 1st gear and I have full boost in 2nd gear before 4000rpm.
If you are running on the w/g spring only try using a larger line on the bottom of the w/g....-6 stainless or 8mm rubber(the japanese say 8 pi).
Even w/o an o2 sensor (full time open loop) my car is running like a demon on crack! I had some issues with the Greddy o2 sensor so I am sensorless until I get some good info.
GREDDY USA SUCKS when it comes to providing correct info or completely answering questions!

Re: AVC-R and wastegate users... LOOK (drealgsr)
Wanna make sure more people see this....
Did a couple slippery road data log runs in open loop tonight! 1st and 2nd gear sucked but 3rd gear was always a charm. Gotta reprogram the Hondata for more fuel since I am hitting 820~850 degrees celcius in 4th gear. I solved one of my Greddy AF meter problems so I should be running closed loop tomorrow.
