Default question about adding timming and spark plug heat range.

well as some of you know last week, actually 3am friday morning was a thrash to get my car ready for e-town. we got the afr's safe 11.4:1, and the timing is at 18.5 at the top. we tuned on c16. we had a problem earlier in the week with an ignition breakup. first we thought gap. regapped to .028. was ok for another 1000 rpms. then the same thing. regapped to .020. again got about 500-800 rpms more before the breakup. like an idiot, i had heat range 6 plugs in there to go through inspection. DOH me. well we put a set of 7's in and was great to the 520 number i put down. my question is, we added a half a degree at a time and it is loosing power. did hiccup once but only once at like 8500. i know i should have 8's in there but, if the plug is too hot for advancing the timing, will it loose power?

i am sorry to be posting this, but this is the first honda we have tuned above 750's and above 500 wheel.

thanks in advance.

16* base, and 18.5* across the whole boost side of the map. no i am not watching egt's. i should be, but i am not. i think it is because of the 7 heatrange plugs. i think i need 8's.

Mikey I think your right in assuming you need 8s...I always heard 7s were good up until 4-450 wheelish hp...
