Askin a question for a friend. He wants to run a Turbo and NOS on the same engine. I told him he was crazy. What kind of compression would he have to run to make this SAFE. I was thinking along the lines of 7:1 or 7.5:1.

 

what engine? How much boost? how big of shot? it's not always about compression it's about TUNING, and tuning for a turbo is hard enough...ad nitrous into the equation....make things more difficult.

 

NOS doesen't care about compression ratio. i have 9:1 compression and i plan to run 28 lbs of boost and a 100 shot of nos under max power.

Will the motor even run with 7.0:1 compression??? LOL....Id stay in the 9's(compression) and tune it.

 

I see....this would be a B16a, in a CRX. I just don't think a B-Series engine could handle all that stress....I mean built and tuned out i coudl see it, but he wanted origionally to run a 150 shot, which i thought was crazy....so i talked him down to 75

 

Back in the day porsche used to build turbo motors with 6.5:1 compression. I don't know what they run now.
