PWR Barrel Air/ Water Intercoolers.....any experiences?
was looking at the pwr Air/ Water Barrel Intercoolers for a turbo street car. It looks to me like the charge air would flow thru to fast to be effectively cooled. Anyone have any experiences with them, positive or negative?

Negative here, we tested one on Kenny Tran's car a couple years ago and it was about equivalent to the single core spearco that's rated for about 450hp. For low hp it's probably fine, but even their 10" model isn't sufficient for over 550hp.

all positive experience here. Pressure drop was less than one pound and did an excellent job cooling the mixture. I probably would not use a water to air on the street but for the race car, it worked much better than our original Spearco

What kind of air temps were you seeing through a run with the PWR as compared to the spearco? I have data from both a single core spearco and a dual core, with the dual core being much better than the pwr.

i also have seen the pwr and they just dont keep the air temps down on the barrell style units.
I prefer the 2-261 unit or use the precision pt1200 water to air
