Default Putting in a Zex Wet Kit soon in a 01 Lude. Couple Quesions???

Ok first off I have a 01 Lude SH w/59k miles with a compression of 210, 210, 212, 209 (I do burn a moderate amout of oil 1/2 qt - 1qt @ 1k miles depends on how hard i drive), car is stock with 3" short ram intake and an axle back exhaust.

Parts list are:
Zex wet kit
Adjustable FPR w/liquid filled gauge (fuel pressure going up)
Zex spark plugs
digital rpm gauge with shift light (autometer)
nitrous pressure gauge (autometer)
NO IGNITION RETARD!!!

QUESTION 1: What shot can I run SAFELY? I'v been getting mixed answers when I searched! 55 shot, 65 shot, 75 shot all have been mentioned. I'm scared to go 75 shot without retarding my ignition. I know I can run 55 shot safely but what about 65 and 75?

QUESTION 2: Some one said that they have their kit hooked up to their shift light so when the light comes on it deactives the nitrous kit. Just want to know how that will be connected?

Thanks!

Why don't you retard the ignition? Zex recommends 0 deg retard for the 55 shot, 2 deg for the 65 shot, and 4 deg for the 75 shot. I ran the 75 shot on my D16 for years with no problems.

Start conservatively and read your plugs. Get one of those light/magnifier things that the muscle car guys always use to read plugs. They are cheap and well worth the money. If you are starting to hurt your ring lands, you will see little tiny flecks of metal on the plugs. I go through this with local kids all the time - if you are going to spray, learn to read plugs, period. The next time you are at your local track, find some guys running big kits on a domestic and ask them nicely to show you how to do it. No one knows more about spraying than the V8 guys running 300-500 hp multi-stage kits. Talk to them and learn.
