Putting motor back together with rebuilt head/ARPs - tips for re-installation?
I already have the block surface cleaned up, ARP headstuds hand-tight and copper sprayed OEM HG sitting in place. I just got my head back from the machine shop. Is it simply a bolt-in affair, or what other factors do I need to consider when properly putting the head back onto the block and hooking everything up?
I've already noted these tasks:
-set cam timing
-set valve lash
-set ignition timing
-attach IM before putting head back on block
Now should I cycle water through the cooling system to get any particles or gunk out before I put the coolant in? I'm already going to drain the oil, put some cheap stuff in there, cycle it through by letting the car idle for 15 min., then replace the oil and filter immediately after.
Anything else I should consider?
This is a list of everything that's been or will be replaced:
headgasket (OEM Honda)
water pump (OEM Honda)
ARP headstuds
new intake manifold gasket(OEM Honda)
new exhaust manifold gasket(OEM Honda)
thermostat (OEM Honda)
accessory belts and timing belt
all turbo-related gaskets
spark plug wires (OEM Honda)
fuel filter
2.5" test pipe
new A/C condensor and line
Thanks in advance, try and reply tonight as I'll be doing the work tonight!
