For that power goal, that's no problem, the V1/V2 can work just fine for what you're looking for in those A/Rs. the issue comes into play when you want over 380-400 out of the thing. So you're fine for now.

So what turbo would you suggest for 450-500whp? I am not looking to go over this power level and I am not looking to spend over ~$800.

If planning on trying to do that on pump gas or methanol you need at 60lbs/min, and if under $800 you're looking at getting a used GT3540s Or used SC6169 or SC6176. You won't find that new of any real quality.

You can probably find a 6262 or similar SC61 for around 8-900 new.

I know they are 2 different turbos. No ****. I was giving info about my experience with the turbo and so the OP didn't confuse the surge issue some of you are talking about as being an issue with all the precision entry level turbos. Since he is asking about feedback about the turbos.

True. $900 is the going rate. His budget was no more than $800.

Reapers are slightly more. ;-), but I think you get a little more.

As far as I know I'm the only one that has actually BOUGHT and USED this turbo.

Making close to 300whp on a stock b16a2 @12 psi. Been running it for almost 5 months now

Mods are ITR cams, log mani, 2.5" charge pipes, 3" DP/exhaust

We sell a lot of them so I'm sure there are other guys on this board using them. I am going to update that thread as Precision no longer offers the 5431 for that price. It is now a Billet 5431 and is $679.99

For a Bseries trying to make 500hp that doesn't want to spend the money on a Billet 5857 or 6262 I would run a 6031E T3 .82. We can do that turbo for $599.99
