PROS AND CONS OF NITROUS!
hey whats up guys im on here lookin for pros and cons of a nitrous setup! 9 times outta ten ima build a block so it will last longer! only using it for track use! so if yal have some input please inform me!
i wanna run a 100 shot...i like the zex kits they seem very reliable! with this 100 shot i was wondering will i be able to get away with it as far as stock f23a1 block with 200k or just build one....sometimes i think it probably be cheaper and more reliable to install a turbo kit....but you gotta think about it i can make 2-3 100 shot passes at the track and be done for the night or build boost everyday all day! i just need some good guidence!
It depends on the amount of control u have over ur nitrous and fuel. Throwing a 100 shot through the intake is probably a bad idea. But with a nitrous plate, proper ems, and tune time ul probably b fine. If bang for ur buck is what ur after, check out the nos sniper kit and run there recommended 75 shot and get a guage
probably a higher silicon content piston (u can run smaller clearance due to less expansion) like a srp or something similar. But id never build a honda motor for nitrous, only boost. Nitrouse is expensive and runs out quick, plus if u want what boost will give u on forged internals, ur going to have to spend the money in a good ems, tune, bigger injectors, fuel pump...all the same stuff u have to do for a turbo so u might as well just go boost.
If u install a small nitrous kit, u'll still need a bigger fuel pump and better clutch

forged if you insist on building it... But I ran a stock LS with 120,xxx miles on a 75 shot wet with a single fogger and never had any problems once I had it tuned right. The ran great for about a year until i sold it and it never smoked at all. I was happy with it. But now with my GSR i just boosted it. I make 380 whp on a stock engine so if you think about it i am making 200+ whp more than stock, would you put a 200 shot on a honda. I sure wouldnt. If you just want a little more power spray it. If you plan on making more power later, I would put the money towards building a turbo setup

nitrous is not alot of work...It was just my first nitrous kit i built and put in. Seriouly once i went to my buddy that did alot of nitrous v8 cars the tune went quick. All we really did was make a pass on spray and check plugs then kept repeating the process till it was right. It would have probably only taken 1/2 hour if I had all the jets on hand to keep changing them till we got it right. Just start out a little rich and start leaning it out SLOWLY
Or just stick with the stupid conservative recommendations that come with the kit. Dont forget that our manifold are meant for dry air not wet fuel. Its not a lot of work unless u wanna make more than 75 hp off of it, then ul only have to work if u want ur motor to b safe.
sniper kit is 350, no tuning just run what jets the kit recommends (its very conservative so u dont blow ur motor). Ur clutch and fuel pump will probably b ok (its worth a shot if ur broke) on a conservative 50 shot but would b questionable on a 75 shot. Nitrous around me is at most 4$ per pound so a refill of a ten gallon tank would b 40 bucks and I have found it for $3 but there always out. So thats like 420 bucks and ur ready to spray. The post above me is stupid overkill for a wet kit up to 75 horsepower and he is overpricing everything or at least telling u to get the top of the line stuff.
Retard ur ignition timing by a degree or two and buy some colder plugs for 1.99 a piece and run 93 octane. IF u do these things u shouldnt have any problem on spraying a wet kit up to 75hp. Anymore horsepower ur going to need to be able to control the fuel, timing, and nitrous flow through sophisticated electronics (that r generally pretty easy to set up).

Pros-
1. Awesome bang for your buck.
2. Great control over traction at the track.
3. Pretty much looked down upon in the honda community it seems.
4. Very easy to tune (if you know what you are doing)
5. There are more, but I know people are gonna say go boost so I am not going to waste my time.
Cons-
1. Have to refill the bottle
2. Have to deal with people saying, "You are gonna blow your motor!"
3. Very easy to "blow" a motor (if you don't know what you are doing)
4. Maintaining bottle pressure is sometimes a pain.
5. Most people don't know **** about this stuff, so it is hard to get the correct info if you are new.
There is a quick list. I know nitrous sucks *** and boost is better. lol

Well more money is always going to be better so u gotta pick a price and draw ur line. If money isnt a thing then yeah build it for boost. If ur broke like me then go for the cheap wet kit and say **** the fuel pump (even though its cheap insurance if ur really worried about frying a valve or something).
