Project turbo type R
ok heres my idea
b18c1/c5 block with crank and main caps
Block sleeved/decked/o-ringed by gem
line bored to 84mm if i get 9.2:1/9.0:1
overbored head gasget from gem if 84mm
block honed
je 9.0:1 (84mm) pistons/rings/pins or endyne 9.2:1 pistons (84mm)
eagle h-beam rods
arp head bolts and studs
and then taking what ever else i need off my stock block to complete the built short block when i mate it to the itr head with skunk2 cam gears.
mate that with my itr head. put some 550cc or 750cc injectors in there. with the 255lb/hr walbro fule pump and a high flow fuel rail. Rc eng odb-1 injector clips for 440cc and a resitor box if using 550cc or above.
slap the rev hard 2c turbo kit on it. greedy e-manage with all the extra stuff and profec 0e-1 boost controller, or hondata s100B with the profec b. and all the gauges i need to moniter my motor. then tune tune tune on a dyno till i hit 330-350 whp
ohh and a clutch to.
i am a a little confused about what size injectors to look at and what comperssion pistions i should go for. but i have lots of time to think this through.
i would probley do this build up slowley over a year or 2.
if you have any comments or suggestions please feal free to post your thoughts or if you wish to give me your .02 cents that would be great to. every pennys going to help with this project

Re: Project turbo type R (Vampyre)
9.0~9.5 is good cr...shouldn't go higher (imo)
what turbo are you goin to use?
would highly recommend a good stand alone
550cc in a good Injector size...my mechanic told me that going too big is not a good idea, and just use a size that is appropriate for the setup. 750cc+ is too big and wasteful for most Honda turbo setups...550 is good enough!

Re: Project turbo type R (MiraiZ)
the t3/t04e turbo more then likley.
i was looking at the aem ems but 1500 is a bit steep for it. if i could find it for 900 or less then i would jump all over it.
where is a good place to find a bare block?

Re: Project turbo type R (Vampyre)
so whats the difference advantages disadvantages of 9:1 vs 9.2:1?
Here is my compilation of pros and cons of both:
high comp:
pros
better pickup off the line
turbo spools faster
cons
less potential for higher boosts
harder to tune
detonates easier
low comp
pros
cooler compressed air as opposed to hot compressed air in high comp
better tuning threshold
less chances of detonation
cons
less pick up off the line
takes mors poost to produce the same HP as high comp with less boost
requires more boost pressure to make the same power as high comp at lower boosts

some of my friends don't realize that it is harder to tune a motor running high comp, and forget that theres a limit. *pump gas*
