Default Project Big Block Compression Test.....

I am speechless. When Carl (The lonely sole helping me in this project) screamed like a 12 year girl getting her period the first time, I thought, "Now What". His little scream, ended up being a good thing......at least I think it is?

In order from #1-#4. Also, Number 1 read like the others on a second try. We did it again since the number was lower but it got better (270)

Cyl #1

Cyl #2

Cyl #3

Cyl#4

And for all the non-believers, we took a vid of it.

Exactly my thought. I am not even sure this is a "Good Thing".

Anyway, I can't remember how many cranks. I would have to ask Carl (Demigod here). I will post the video when I can keep my eyes open long enough to do it.

Finaly compression according to Endyn is around ~9.6-9.8.

Can't be all that high with flat top pistons.

Head wasn't shaved but resurfaced a little by Endyn to make sure it was straight.

Not sure on height as Endyn built the block. At least I didn't check anything on that?

It has the big Zex cam in it. I am thinking more like 10.5

I guess, I will need to be conservative with the tune huh?

Then what is it? Any idea?

Also, this motor only has 15 miles on it with ND oil. Make a difference? Maybe a little tight?

Did you do the compression test with the throttle plate open?

time for a leakdown test...

As for mine .. approx 9.3:1 C/R

I got 215-220 psi per cylinder and 2%-3% leakdown (Thanks Chris @ NRG). Endyn

Well I was at 220-230psi across the board with the SRP 10.5:1 pistons. I calculated compression out to be closer to 10:1 though.

Has your gauge been giving you normal #s on other motors?
270 sounds pretty high. Do you have access to another gauge to verify?

Sounds a little high. I would expect 170-190 psi.
