Progress on my D-Series.
ok as most of you know i have a fully built and GE sleeved D16Y8, that i just put in the car.
Well after driving the car for the last 2-3 weeks straight i finally got the 1000 mile break in period over with!!!
So on Wednesday of last week i bought a NTK Sensor for my techedge wideband, and i started to tune the car on only 5psi.. i am keeping the AFR at about 11.9-12.0 all the way up to 8k and it seems to pull straight up with no problems at all, plus i know that with the kind of AFR i am playing it really safe.
The car on 5 Psi feels wicked!!! it feels like it is on 10psi with the OLD setup!
So yesturday i started to tune it for a little more boost, i slowly worked my my up to 12psi... and on 12psi this thing is so sick!!! i have no traction in 1-2 and part of third!!!
I know that the car is so much more stronger on 12psi then it ever was on 18psi with the OLD setup.
This big turbo gets a BIG
From me!!!
And the lag is not that bad at all, i see full boost by 5-5.5k rpm.
Well i would just like to thank everyone for there help, and i will keep you guys updated on the progress.
This weekend i am going out to the track to see what it will do, But i only have a little 20" slick, so i know traction is going to be an issue.
Hopefull in the next week or two will have it tuned on 15psi on pumo gas, and 20-25psi on C-16!!!!!!! my 400whp goal!!!
Thanks for your time,
Brian
