profec-B vs. AVC-R
i can get a Greddy ProfecB for $295 shipped. or a APEXi AVC-R for $399 shipped.
daym.. $100 difference in price... i rather get the APEXi! but daym... boost controllers are so damn expensive. is it really worth it? hahah
i rather jump out my door and open the hood... turn up the boost... then jump back in!

Re: profec-B vs. AVC-R (JaEz)
I have the blitz dsbc in my drag gen3 teg..
has a bunch of feature that I havn't used yet. I have setup the max boost %, gain setting, overboost limit and reduction ratio.. I have to program the scramble button and time limit and there is one other setting I can't remember right now...
works solid, had two overboost spikes up to 1 bar (oops).. i unplugged the solinoid and plugged it back in... works fine now...

Re: profec-B vs. AVC-R (DIRep972)
DIRep972,
whuts the difference between an AVC-R and a PROFECB? shoot... a whole lotta shiet man! seriously... the AVC-R has so many features... it confuses you and you forget the whole purpose of why you bought it. other than that... if you know how to use it... its pretty cool. the PROFECB is simple. hi and lo boost features all in a few *****.
Accordking,
i was thinkin about tryin one of those manual boost controllers... but it defeats the whole purpose of having one if you still have to open up the hood and adjust it there. the ones you can mount in the dash are almost near the price of an electronic one. be more economical to get an electronic one...

Re: profec-B vs. AVC-R (DIRep972)
I like the Profec B. Many times people don't realize they what they need. What do you need from a boost controller? In my experience, the Profec B does what most people need it to:
Prevent boost creep
Improve/control spool up time
One setting for low boost
One setting for high boost
And if that doesn't do enough for you, they also have the remote switching system. Then, and only then, if you think that won't be enough, consider the other choices out there. That's my opinion. Remember, Keep It Simple Stupid

Re: profec-B vs. AVC-R (DIRep972)
The avcr has gear based boost settings... so you can setup how much boost you want in each gear ... and a whole lot of features that the profec don't have. If you want to keep it simple and don't like taking the time to configure and reconfigure...just get the profec b...
