Default Profec-B Spec II users read->

So I got the thing displaying PSI. I go to set the low and high boost PSI. I low to 5 and it has a little percent sign on the bottom and high to 8 and it still has a little percentage sign ;/. Then I go set the gain and stuff to like 50 just to see if it holds and what not and I set everything else. Low boost holds 5.3 or so but thats what my stock wastegate is supposed to hold and hi boost does the same thing. ANyone give me some help?

which gain did you set? At the boost display, just turn the dial. That's the gain that will up the boost - make sure you press in on the **** after you make your adjustment otherwise it will not save it. The other gain (accessed by pressing mode) is a response setting. If this does not work, your vaccum lines are not set up right

This is a pretty simple boost controller if you just play around with it and ignore the directions, which are not right. Often times they substitute the MODE button for the SET button

So true, the instructions will screw you up , just play with it . i am still trying to find out if playing with the gains and what not make much of a diff. it will take a little to get it dialed in just right.

Blah I got the **** spiking at like 8 but then it drops to like 7 and holds like 6.9-7.2 I should have just gottan a manual controller ;x lol

But let me get this right. The Set Gain=how much psi/kpa you wanna run. The Set part is the percentage that holds the psi?

um, i'm not understanding you, so i'll just tell you how to do it

with the unit on, at the boost display screen, turn the dial to change the duty %. It's a percentage of your wastegate spring, so if your spring is 10psi and you set it to 10% duty cycle, you'll achieve around 11psi - make sense? After you turn the dial to the desired setting, push the dial in, otherwise it won't save your changes. If you have issues with spiking, you may need to adjust the start boost feature. The GAIN accessed through the MODE button can also be adjusted down to control spiking. Remember, no change is saved in the unit until you press the dial

so every 10%=1 psi over the spingers stock psi? My spring is 5.5 psi. So would I make it 30% duty for 8 psi?

No...10% of what the spring is set at. So if its 5 psi spring....10% of that is .5 so that'd be 5+0.5 so it'd be 5.5 total. To get 8 psi you'd need to set it to about 60% if it was a 5 psi spring.

that the purpose of a boost controller, it allows you to go higher in boost than the wastegate allows, but it will not allow you to go lower boost than the wastegate.

Yeah i got that but that doesn't answer my question........what happens if you want to go over 8psi with a 4psi spring. Does the new profec B allow over 100%?

You can only boost on a spring so much. So I'd suggest just getting a bigger spring.
