I was talking with a couple of tuners last night about the Profec B and the Tial Wastegate. Basically what I was told is that you can only double your spring rate with the Profec B. I was also told to get around this, you could use only the top port and not the side port, and run as much boost as you want. Any of you guys out there care to inform me how I can get 25+ out of my Profec B and my Tial 35 mm wastegate (7 psi spring .45 bar)? I could always get a larger wastegate, but I haven't even taken this one out of the box! Plus, I don't really want to spend any more money than I have to. Let me know, and thanks in advance.

You can hit well over 14psi with the Profec B (7psi spring x2)...I don't think any electronic boost controller won't allow you to boost at least 20psi. You can bypass the actuator vaccum lines if you really want to see how much you can boost. If the actuator isn't working, your wastegate won't open and you will boost as much as your car possibly can. How much boost are you planning to run? A 35mm WG isn't "too" big, but should be sufficient for ~18-20psi. When/if you get to higher boost levels, it might not be big enough to vent off the excess gases and you'll experience some boost creep.

To sum it all up, if a Profec B doesn't allow you to boost over 14psi, something is wrong with your set up or the boost controller.

 

I have my Deltagate adjustment bolt tightened to only 4psi of boost. As soon as I properly hooked up my Profec B, I have run anywhere from 4psi up to about 20psi with no problems. Just turned the little ***** and wham.

 

or you can always sell it to me and get yourself a manual boost controller.
