Default problems w/my prodrive gear...AGAIN, now it wont turn

ok, so the first one i got wouldn't even fit in the housing. after about 3 weeks or more, i get my new one back, k it fits in good. i turn it and it feels good, except 1 smal spot it kept hitting every 180 degrees, it hit a slight snag. so i put the access cover back on to see what that does, and now when it hits the snag spot it is hard as hell to turn w/my fingers, it almost wont turn. now i know the engine will be able to turn it, but this cant be right, wont it wear the wrong way, causeing failure. i dont know what im going to do, im sick of waiting, its been 8 months w/out a car. at least i bought an oil pressure gage, if i do try the gear.

anyone have any ideas or similar problems?

ive been thinking about it, but i dont know. im really going to kick myself in the *** idf i use the stock gear and it breaks, thats 10k down the drain. i mean ive heard that they are week and i plan i pushing sick amounts of power. 8500+ in a h22, 25+ psi and 500+whp.

right now im not sure if it would be worse to use the prodrive the way it is, or use the stock one? damn it what to do!?

Don't use the prodrive unless the clearances are right. It will break like it is now. For safety, you should install an oil pressure warning light like the one autometer makes. Sometimes by the time you notice on the gauge it's to late. The light will lite up with less than __ psi (depends which sending unit you use). It's a good safety thing to have if you have oil pump problems.

hey, I also was trying to put a pro drive gear in the oil pump for a h -series that the owner brought in for his car , I saw that the gear wasn't turning smooth like factory unit, and I thought that this wouldn't work at all so I didn't want to install it .
I have installed a few of that brand parts and it seems that they have problems with the h- series parts.

We used to use a aftermarket oil pump gear in our mid 9 sec race car ,but not anymore now we still go back to stock , and have not damaged any factory oil pump yet in the years of racing. our car puts out 615+ whp
just use a factory crank pulley or an ATI dampner
Just thought you might want to know

Seriously, plenty of 500-600+ hp race cars use stock gears it seems. Inline uses stock in their race car and had no problem using a stock gear in the engine they built for me. Trust me, I would have waited for a new prodrive too if I thought it was necessary.
