Default Problems using standard bore??

k guys i am hearing diff things about piston slapp ect if u dont have your block bored when upgrading to forged pistons and rods. I recently had my pistons replaced for ctr pistons and rings..all the did was hone the block and my car runs fine. The thing is i wanna know if i would get piston slap upgrading to stcok bore forged pist/rods ...My turbo project is draing the funds already i dont wanna have to remove the whole engine and pay to hjave it bored also i was thinkin $763 piston rod package from race engineering and block guard for 95 bucks ....im not gonna run too much boost 10-12 but i just wanna be safe and i also wanna get rid of these ctr slugs by the way i have 95 gsr

You're going to have a lot of blowby if you don't have the cylinders honed again when you put those new pistons & rings in. The rings won't seat properly. I have stock bore SRPs and they slap when cold as well. It has nothing to do w/ what size the bore is, it has to do w/ the silicon content of the particular piston you're working with. Arias, in particular, has been known for more durable pistons, although the downside to this is that they slap a lot.

as long as you did a good hone job you'll be fine, its the h22/23 blocks that need to have new sleeves installed.
