Default Problem after fuel pump install???

ok I know this should and proably will not be from installing the pump. but here we go, me and my friend just installed a walbro 255 high pressure in his 96 DX with a greddy kit with "mini-me" set-up. Well the thing is the car was running great for like 5 mins then it started to over heat????? It is like the car will get hot then you crank the heater on full blast and it cools down drastically. Well he drove the car from work then we installed the pump and then it started to do this. The car ran fine no problems with over heating or anything before. We changed the Thermostat and that was not the problem still over heating. Then we did one of those check the head gasket while the car is running things. You know pull the cap off the radiator and watch the coolant. It was perfectly still only moving little bits. Well we added coolant too and it took some not too much and it still over heats. We are going to mess with it more tomorrow morning and I was just looking for some ideas to check.

Also when a water pump goes bad you know it right? It will leak water like crazy and make noises right?

Any ideas are greatly appericated thanks,
Brandon

The water pump doesn't always leak 'like crazy'. Sometimes you can see where the water has dried near the pump. Sometimes it doesn't leak until it idles for awhile. Be on the look out for puddles.

Yeah at oddball times when the car has already got hot. So we ran a hot wire straigt to the fan from the battery and test drove after cooling down and still got hot.. ..Well I am on my way over there to check things out again, Hopefully we will find out what the hell.

We swapped out fuel pumps back to stock and the damn thing runs good. Not getting hot or anything.
