UM...uh....
Probe Rods are in our all motor daily driver making what? 245+ Wheel Horsepower?
And probe rods are in our 480 WHP@ 17 PSI killer.
We are Probe wholesale distributors over here.
I have my own line of Probe Pistons coming out:
IB Spec Probe Pistons, and I sell all their rods.
I have them in stock.
The Rod bolts are 9 MM VS Eagle 8 MM.
We think the rods are stronger because of the beefier bolts.
And we made 5 WHp from just changing the rods on one of our motors in our testing of these rods.
We don't use ROSS pistons, at all, ever. We might do a deal with ROSS in the future for our own Spec's on their piston, but right now the best piston you can put in a motor for a Honda is:
IB Spec Wiseco pistons. Without a doubt.
We made over 13 WHP more with the new IB Spec's/Probe Combo than we did with anything before.
So that tells you something.
Thank you all.
Jeff

Jeff...when you made more power on changing pistons and rods, did you go to a bigger bore or did you gap the rings any differnt, did you use a different type of oil, did you use the same type of head gasket...I could go on and on about why there might have been a 15hp increase with those or maybe I should ask the machine shop that assembles your motors?

We did not change the bore size, or the compression, we just used rods and pistons with different designs, that are way lighter.
And if you come over here, you can see our new "Engine" building room.
We assemble every motor we sell in house, and always have. The guy that does our machine work, is one of the best in the USA and frequently graces the domestic magazines for his quality.
We found 5 WHP from JUST the rods on 1 of our tests with the exact same pistons and same motor.
When 4 rods weigh the same as 3 rods (the old ones) thats alot of weight.
Motors like lighter weight. They spin better and that translates into more power.

but arent the bolts WEAKER than the eagles?????
are the pics of the probes (on the site i linked) the same as that are in your IB project?????? they dont look beefy at all(compared to ALL aftermarket forged rods that would be a good choice for a turbo honda)
hrmmmmmmm
glad to see some more info coming though

they might be different.
The ones I get are made to what we told them to make them to.
We have a huge line of IB Spec probe things coming soon, and in the works.
We specified a 9 MM ARP rod bolt.
So you take the Eagle 8 MM rod bolt that torques down to 28 pounds...
Then you take our Probe's 9 MM ARP bolt that torques to 38 lbs.
Which one do you think is going to break first?
is 20,000 PSi enough?
But we use Eagle ALOT also. I believe we are one of the largest Eagle Dealers in the World.. We are definitly top 3 I would say.
Eagle's products are good.
Probe is good. We use them both.

Lighter is not always better. Do you have any long term results of these? So did you do the test on an engine dyno or chassis dyno? Like I asked before...im sure not everything was the same esp. if it was in a car on a chassis dyno? The other fact is where did it make the hp? Sometimes less weight is not always the best thing. When stuff gets to light, it has a problem carrying the speed at the top end. What was the air temp on the 2 days you did the dynos?

I havent used any of their domestic stuff but i can say that their 347 stroker kits for fords can take anything you can throw at them. Jsut their basic off the shelf "street fighter" kits.
I'm definetly purchasing a set either this week or next week. You'll recieve an email shortly from me, Jeff
They'll go along with my Wiseco IB Spec piston into a GE Sleeved block. I'll tell you guys what I think of them.
