Problem with DRAG 3 Kit!!
Does anyone know if Turbonetics/Importparts provides any warranty at all on these kits ? I bought mine Oct 2001 and put only around 8,000-10,000kms on it and my turbo is already gone....
The oil seal on the exhaust side decided to go and the shaft has tons of play. Turbo was warmed up/cooled down all the time...etc. Any suggestions ?

I had a similar problem with mine, I callec Ben and he said to send it in for a warranty inspection(he said it would take about a week), so I did. It arrived August 9 at IP and I still don't have it back and I harass them weekly almost daily but I never get any good news. It is supposed to ship this monday, we'll see what the excuse is this time. They'll take it back but when you get it back is another story. If you have the time to wait send it in, if not have it rebuilt. I actually thought about buying another turbo and selling the other one when it finally comes back. Enough bitching about my problems. Good luck
same problem, i was getting oil leak on the compressor side right after i install the turbo. some one told me that it might have been because i used syn oil, need to use regular oil to break in the seal first. also it leak more when oil is full rather than low. so it could be my oil return line, which is -8 ans with stainless lines.
Thanks for the input guys.... I'll try to give Ben a call, but last time I tried to get a hold of him, he was a bit scarce.
I hope I can get this crap fixed quickly as I can't afford to have my car out of commission too long. Now I see why Turbonetics has a bad name....8000-9000 kms ? Damn !

I can't really tell by the pictures in your sig, but it kinda looks like your oil return line isn't positioned the best. Which I know can blow the seals out of a turbo in no time. If the line kinda bends back up when it goes into the oil pan, that's most likely your problem. There are quite a few people here who have put over 30k miles on a turbonetics turbo without any problems, me being one of them.

Hmmm....I'll check that out, but i think its just the angle of the picture. I'm pretty sure it has proper drainage. The oil return from the turbo does have a slight angle, but it's still pointing down and towards the oilpan, would that be a problem ?
If it's still pointing down as it gets to the oil pan, you should be fine. I just saw that bend, and couldn't tell if it was having to bend back up to get to the pan.
