400 to 700 depending on how long it's going to take them, pay more if it's done in a few hours or same day, if u need it that bad, but thats about the going rate most shops charge 500 to 800 some shops charge for labor for a sawp

700 seems fair, if it was a straight swap 500 is good

So me paying 800 for all that sounds about right, and Im not getting fucked royally? Its kind of a buddy of mine who is doing it on the side outside of this business. Says usually he would have to charge like 1300....

Most shops around here charge $500 to pull it out, $500 to put it back in

sounds a little too expensive....over here, 400 for a straight swap. maybe around 600 for the kinda work 95GSRTT mentioned.

Divide 800 by 60 and tell me if you think he is going to do ALL the work 12 hours? Can you? Seems like a going rate for 12 hours of hard manu labor. He has to pull your motor, and take it apart into its 3 largest pieces. Then swap some **** around. 800 sounds better and better. 12 hours in a real shop is somewhat realistic

yes. yes.

800 is a fair price though... not a great, fanatastic deal.

Umm he doesnt have to seperate anything really... He has to drop the engine/tranny, put the head on to an already built block. put on clutch/flywheel/tranny, and put it back in.

He owns a shop so has all the tools to pull the engine in 2 hours I would think. Putting it together maybe 2 hours? And putting it in maybe 3-4.. So rougly 8 hours.... 4 more hours if you want to just be liberal about it. Also I will be helping with taking it out and putting it back in. So thats gonna take some time off also.
