Default Precision Turbo

First of all they get a in my book for customer service. Last weekend I was driving home from work and my car would hardly make any boost at all. We checked the wastegate, charge pipes, etc. When I would rev the motor I heard an awful sound, like metal hitting metal. The worst thing that could happen did, the turbo was blown. I am frieking out, this thing is only a few months old and only seen 25psi for one day. The rest is daily driving.

So what happened is the bolts that hold the compressor housing on had come out! This must have happened due to vibration. To me this sounded like a warranty issue. Luckily my good buddy own a shop and called them up and got them to warranty the damage. So I get a brand new compressor housing! I was so worried I was going to haft to pay all this money to get it fixed.

Oddly enough the turbo wasnt boosting past 25psi on the dyno and was spooling alot slower than it should. I think that when we dyno tuned that maybe it was already leaking boost and one of the bottom bolts must have come out? Could be. I hope so. So we plan to make another dyno pull with the new turbo and try to reach 30psi..wish me luck

I was wondering about that. I think this is why they switched to a garrett housing instead of their own..
