Default Precision 5831E oil problem

Hi, As the tittle say, my Precision 5831 keep blowing oil to the exhaust housing after two times repaired and balanced.

First time repaired, I used the B&R .060" restrictor the Shodan recommended. But I believed the seal was already shot but after a second repair, after a few months oil is coming to the EX. housing.

Precision 5831E MFS
-3an feed line
-10an return
80 psi at cold start

Does Precision use a special piston seal (I've using the normal Garrett T3/T4) that my locals speeds shops sale.

Because Precision turbo?

Your drain looks fine. If all else checks out, idk what to tell you.

If you're thinking dynamic seal vs. a carbon seal system, then the answer is no. Neither Precision nor Garrett use these for their journal bearing systems, and haven't since the early 1990s. They were originally designed for draw thru carburetor applications as a positive seal to keep oil from being sucked out of the turbo in high vacuum situations. They seal great, but tend to drag on the actual turbine shaft, so, I don't recommend trying to find them to retrofit.

In your case, it may be time to call it a wrap after 2 rebuilds, and use a different company that enables the use of water.

Yeah, I been looking your Hunter turbo for a while and I believe is time to save and bought it.

Q: The T31 .63 a/r ex. housing from the Precision fit the hunter .63 a/r T31 wheel? Or is best buy the whole unit?
