Default Precautions for D17

Hey guys,
I've got an '03 Ex. I'm already done some mods to it, nothin big. (wheels, intake, exhaust). I'm thinking about going with a bolt on trubo. Probobly a T3/T4 Hybrid. What would you recommend to remedy the trubo lag as well as the wear on my enigne. I'm only gunna run it at 7-8 PSI but i've got an automatic tranny. I'm thinkin about a torque converter but thats big $$$. Any other suggestions to help my engin out? Thanks alot

You could run a smaller turbo since your not looking to push much psi. I don't know about autos, wouldn't think it'd hurt your spool time really, but what are you looking for anywyas. Just a daily driver with some more take off? If so then i'd just run a dsm turbo, or even a wrx turbo. Should give you quick spool. If i ever boost my four door, i'd do that, my hatch is a lot of fun when that turbo kicks in, but for daily driving, i'd just want something for 2-4 thousand rpm's personaly.

You should check out homemade turbo, or whatever it is, search for it. They have a lot of the junk yard setups, which is really all you'd need. I don't know how mechanicaly inclinded you are, may want to just get a kit for that power level. I still don't think you'd have to do anything to your auto, but i don't own one either Dsm's and wrx turbos can be had for cheap on ebay. Really cheap if you want to find one you could rebuild. Otherwise, head to the junkyards, i think people find them for like 50-75 bucks. Not sure what you can do for an exhuast mani though, if a d16 fits, then an ef manifold is cheap.
