Default is it possible to tap the oil return on the turbo?

I am not finding a return flange anywhere so i was thinking, is it possible to run a tap in the turbo where the oil return is supposed to be and then run a line out of that? The guys that sold me the earls products said it would work, i am afraid that i might hurt the turbo if i do it worng. is it even possible and would you guys do it? thanks guys

Are you saying that you can't find the correct fitting for where the existing hole is now and you'd like to use an NPT to AN adapter instead? I don't think either of us understand your question. What kind of turbo is it?

If you are talking about the oil return hole on the bottom of the turbo where the oil gravity drains out of the turbo, yes, it would be perfectly acceptable to tap it. Use larger 3/8 npt or 1/2 npt and use a -10 drain line. Make sure you dont get any metal shavings in the turbo center section......

Hope that helps,

Regards,

Dave

it is for a t25. I cant find the oil return flange that fits on it. the one that is at roadrace is for a garret t3 and doesnt fit(i called mike @ roadrace). So the problem is i have to find a either used flange from a pick a part, or buy a new one from mitsu and then cut it. I couldnt find one used and the new one costs 50 bucks and i still have to cut it. so i should just have it tapped and for that price i could even go steel braided though its not needed for the return because its not under pressure. anyway you guys think that i should tap it? thanks
