Ported JRSC, Starting Issue
After i got my blower ported i started having this issue. On cold days, my car has a real hard time starting up and idling unless i have my foot on the gas. On these cold starts, the car will not stay running without my foot in the gas. It also sounds like a Subie at this point.
Once the car is warmed up, the car idles perfect, drives perfect, and have no issues and the car sounds smooth.. The car even starts perfectly on cold starts when its hot.and humid out. Its only a cold start on a cold day is when i have these issues.
Now, my car wont even start up. Please help. The car has been unable to start up for the last week. It just cranks but will not turn over. Prior to it.having issues starting, it was starting as mentioned above.

Cold start is something that rarely gets professionally tuned because the car is brought to the tuner hot or it get tuned in the summer months.
OP - you need to talk to your tuner or play around with the tune yourself. You want to focus on raw cranking fuel and ECT fuel trims - only on the colder temp cells.

Thanks guys. Prior to porting, the car was tuned by King Motorsports. This has only started now, after reinstall of the ported unit.
I have plugged in a stock ecu hoping I could get the car started but that did not work either. Any thoughts? I feel there is way too much fuel in which the motor may be flooded which is why it will not start. Could this.be why the car isn't starting?

Do you have any pictures of the port work? Is it making more or less boost now? Trying to determine which direction you need to go with your cranking fuel. Sounds to me like the blower was overported and now you lost power down low, which means your drowning the engine in fuel on the start.

after porting you need to re-tune some things....
and if it was over ported then that will make everything worse

I dont have photos of the port unfortunately. Since it has been getting colder here (Mn/Wi) its becomung more of an issue.
I got the car started. The plugs seemed thick with fuel, if that makes sense. I wiped them and used a lighter to burn the plugs. Afterward, my genius self decided to light a small over the cylinders. One cylinder caught the spark and something popped (more like.blew up). Afterward i plugged in the spark plugs and the car started (rough as mentioned in original post). Once the car was hot, the car ran smooth and fine again.
Also, from the butt dyno, the car does seem pull harder than before the port, however without dynotuning, i cant be sure.
i am not making any more or less boost at the original 6lbs.

I appreciate your help guys.
Port work was done by Steigmeir. They ported the blower and stube WITHOUT my consent. I sent it in to get the front drive rebuilt. I only paid for the front drive rebuild and not the full port job.

ughhhhh steigmeir is notorious for ruining superchargers, what are you using for tuning maybe we can help you adjust the tune, but other then that it will need to be retuned, and hopefully you havent lost power from the port.
Im currently on a hondata s100. I will be using the s100 for the new tune, but im hoping ill find an s300 soon.
I guess ill see where my numbers are at after the retune to see if i lost power or not. I will keep you guys updated. Gotta schedule a tune now.

yea you don't enlarge or add bypass holes at the edge of the rotors.
they ported the blower for our cobra and it was perfect

Steigmier sucks anyways !! Just a company that pops up when it comes to porting blowers and people end up using them. I argued w/Stiegmier and a few others a while back about the ports on the SVT blowers. I've done several Lightning blowers and a few Cobra blowers and they have all out performed Stiegmier blowers on the street, track, and dyno....go figure. Some people think that making a whole bigger is doing something or scraping at it w/a dremel is doing something. U gotta know what to cut out, what to leave, what to reshape, exc.... But I believe it's not the port on the blower , it's just ur tune needs to be revised bc of it like stated above. Good luck man
