Plumbing the IAT?
I was checking out old post and came across this:

My question is or my concern is I mounted my IAT about 6 inches from the throttle body just like the stock setup/location. Is this wrong or can it be mounted where ever? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Allen

For the IAT sensor, I unwrapped the factory loom and rerouted the wiring towards the wiring that went towards the VTEC solenoid, ( towards the radiator ) I loomed everything back up and taped it with black tape. You can tap into the intake piping that DRAG gives you after the cone filter. Wiring looks neat and FACTORY!!!! Looks like it belongs there.

In this situation, is the IAT sensor placed before the compressor? It sounds like it is. In that position, it cannot read the true intake temp and adjust for it accordingly.

The pressure won't hurt the sensor.
Having your IAT in a position where it "lies" to the ECU about the air temp is not a good practice. It's a bandaid way of making the engine run rich. It will also cause the performance to be inconsistent as the charge temp heats up because the ECU is unaware of this change in temperature.
All engine management systems require (for proper tuning) that the IAT sensor be located AFTER the compressor so that the computer can compensate for rise/drop in air temperature. As the air temp gets hotter, you need to lean things out since the charge is less dense. As it gets colder, you need to richen things up.

So I'm okay in the mounting of my IAT? Come on Sonny make me feel like I accomplished something!
Most Honda/Acura cars have the IAT sensor mounted to the intake manifold somewhere. If you look (for example) at the 92-95 Civic IAT sensor, it's got ears on it with holes to make this job easier. If you're gonna mount it in the charge piping, just make sure that it is in there and held down enough that it doesn't get blown out.

I pulled out my stock air box and other hardware lastnight. I messured the distance from the top of the hose(which mounts to the T/B) and then marked it on my piping. Then drilled a 1/2 inch hole in it. I had a leftover grommet from my AEM CAI so I installed it in the hole, then put the IAT in. Looks factory if I may say so myself.

thanks for taking time to explain why.
