Plugs
I did a search for this but nobody had this question. I got the NGK plugs (with the -11 at the end I dont remember the exact number) and they are gapped at .044 out of the box. I said I heard you need a .030-.032 for stock ignition, but he looked in his little book, and it said .044 recommended for a stock b16....So will the .044 gap be ok with my stock ignition? I am FI BTW
Ive been using NGK part number 2756 (BKR6E 11) and gaped them to .025. Never had a problem and it's off the shelf at a local car parts store.
I forgot to add...Im using stock ignition except for the Taylor wires.

If you are using a stock ignition, you might not get enough spark. By decreasing the gap you have a better chance of igniting.
I had the gap over .030 and the car hesitated a bit. Changing the gap on the plugs made a difference.

So I should lower the gap to .030? Correct.....I just dont understand why the recommended is .040 and you guys are saying .030. Can someone clerify
BTW I read that NGK info page and I didnt find an answer to my question directly, but thanks for posting that!!

OK, lets do this.
Stock applications, use stock gap of 0.44" on 6 series plugs.
FI applications without MSD ignition, use 0.35" on 6 series plugs or 0.40" on 7 series plugs for boost under 8psi.
FI applications with MSD ignition can add 0.05" to the above gaps.
FI applications above 8 psi and under 12psi without MSD should only run 7 series plugs and 0.35" or smaller gaps.
FI applications with MSD igntion (8-12 psi) can run 0.05" wider gap.
After 12 psi on stock combustion chamber, you have to try combinations of colder plugs with MSD box and different gaps. The applications get really tricky at that point.

BTW-I use MSD as a generic term for ignition amplifier. You could run Crane, Jacobs, whoever.

I am at 5 lbs and I have the 7 series plugs with a stock ignition. So where should they be gapped?
Shoot my fault you already said. Sorry about that
