please help !!!
First off i have a 96 teg Auto. My car is throwing a CEL #9 CYP Sensor. I did the search already but it didn't really help me. Can someone describe this sensor wat it looks like and where can it be located ? My car is running fine but the second i put it in drive it sputters and stalls then die, its weird cause it works in reverse. Someone please help me i need my car running and it stuck at a friends house. I'm not exactly sure if its the distributor or the cylinder. Any help would be very appreciated
I have resetted the ecu but once i put the car in drive it pops back up again, i took of the distributor cap and everthing seems to be in order. so i'm still lost
the cyp sensor is in your distributor... the CYP can be check i think if i remember correcty its suppose to be 350-750ohm check wire 4 and 8 on the distrb resistance between two. ALSO check everythign inside the distrib is okay... tis something in there that is cuasing guanranteed. 100% off the time its dirty..
If thats not the issue then its your ECU

where exactly is the sensor ? in the dist. cap ? can you give me some kind of description ? and assuming it is bad does this mean i need to buy a whole new dist. or can you buy the sensor seperate ?
there is 3 sensors per the helms manual that i remember in the distributor that will affect this.. but usually if you just clean it out and check your wiring to distrib you should be fine.. usually honda distribs are finiky for wiring.
