Default Which Pistons and Rods to get?

I need to upgrade the bottom end a bit.
Cant afford sleeving.

So will Pistons and Rods all I need? No rings or gaskets or anything else for the bottom end?

Eagle Forged Rods: $325.00
Crower Forged Rods: $649.00
JE Pro Series Pistons: $549.00
Arias Forged Pistons: $525.00
Which of those do you guys suggest?
Are they good prices?
If you suggest another set, please tell me where I can get them for a reasonable cost.

Thanks

if you have a good tuner go for high compression but less boost.....like 10.0:1 or higher

no lower than 9:1, no higher than 10:1 unless you are a pretty trick tuner

Also, ignore that comment about the Eagle rods. They have proven themselves on many high hp cars, like Virens, who is putting down over 600whp. Same Eagle rods you'd be putting in your own car.

If you are on a budget, go with the Eagle Rods. If you have the flow, get the Crowers. As for pistons, I would suggest JE or Wisecos. Can't go wrong with either.

My shop that does all my work and my tuner has had bad problems with eagle rods, he installed them on a few integras and after about 900 miles or so they failed, he shuned me away from eagle rods..not saying that they are not sufficent or strong, just what a very good mechanic and tuner informed me of.....

I have the cash, Its just if I spend more on here, I will have to spend less else where on the car.

Thats why I want to know if the Crower Rods and JE Pistons are worth their money, If they arent, and the Eagle Rods and ROSO Pistons are good product then I'll get them.

so what do you guys think, should I just chug the money in for Crower Rods and JE pistons?
Or are the ROSS Pistons good enough for 300-350 whp?

Eagle rods are awesome, I've never heard any fail after 900 miles. Sounds like an installation issue...

I think the Ross Pistons are not that far off from JE Pistons' price. I have never seen any problems with Eagle Rods. They seem to hold up to as much abuse as the Crowers can. For 1/2 the price, you can't beat them. Ross are great pistons also. The only pistoms *I* personally stay away from are Arias. They are one of the only piston manufacturers who use High Silica content alloy for their Turbo pistons. High Silica pistons become very brittle with high heat and melt.

I have egales in my room right now. I am thinking JE with stock compression (LS)
How are JE's as far as noise goes? Do they slap much when cold?

IM or e-mail me for pricing on JE pistons and Eagle Rods. I haven't seen or heard of a price lower than ours lately.

BTW, I am running JE pistons (10:1 and Eagle rods)

Theres a shop in Houston that sells Eagle rods for $330.00 all day. As for pistons I would suggest the new Weisco's. I just recently recieved my set for a B16A2 that are a true 8.8:1 compression. The thing I did'nt like about JE is that I have to buy a piston that's meant to be used in a B18 to put in my B16, which lowers my compression by 1 pont. The whole time I had JE pistons in my car I thought they were 9:1 in actuallity they were 8:1. Besided the new Weisco's are lighter, a whole lot cheaper, and they make a set for the B16. So if the box reads 8.8:1, then that's what i'll be running! Not to knock JE or anything, but I think Weisco make's an awsome piston. Besides Weisco Ross, and Arias make great stuff that's comparable to any piston. TUNING is KEY! And I really think people are just hung over the name JE to be honest with you!!!! You can get a set of the new Weisco's for 399.00 with rings! I know of two MR2's pushing over 450whp which turned me toward Weisco. That's just my opinion!!!!!!
